Release Notes - 2022.01

Features: 

1. Recycle Bin

  • Recycle Bin is a new feature included as a part of 2022.01 build. Using this feature, users can restore the deleted content such as Profiles, User Groups, Queries, Query Chains, Jobs, and all other Scenario types namely FDRs, TDRs, Validations, BDVs, and QPTs. The default retention time period is set to 30 days.  Users can also change the default retention time period based on the requirement. The contents in the Recycle Bin get deleted permanently beyond the specified retention time period.

2. Asset Inventory in REPORTING module

  • Asset Inventory Dashboard is a part of REPORTING module. Using this dashboard, users can view the details of the ‘individual user assets’ (signed in user) and ‘All assets’. The asset types specified here include FDRs, TDRs, Validations, Queries, QueryChains, JOBs, QPTs, and BDVs.

Enhancements:

1. Tableau Navigator enhancements with multiple levels of data

  • Previously there was no hierarchy level shown within Tableau Navigator and all the data was displayed at the root level but now the user can view multiple levels of data hierarchy such as Level 1, Level 2, Level 3 and so on.

2. Smart Design Change - Smartly affects the downstream elements in QC (Query Chain) and is implemented only in ‘Custom SQL’ Data Source with all transformation widgets acting as downstream elements.

  • When the user adds or deletes any records from the ‘Custom SQL’ Data Source widget, the changes get automatically updated in the downstream components, especially the transformation widgets.

Note: Presently, this smart design change works only with the ‘Query Chain’ and that too with the ‘Custom SQL’ data source widget. Shortly, it will be implemented in FDRs, Validations, and Batch Jobs and also with the rest of the Data Source widgets.

3. Add packetization in all Reporting Dashboards

  • If a Reporting dashboard contains more than 5000 records to be displayed then the user views the data processing message as ‘Fetching Records.’ This enhancement is included in all the Reporting Dashboards such as Data Quality Metrics, Data Quality Dimensions, Row Counts Compare, Reconciliations, Scenario Execution History, and Asset Inventory.

4. Data Retention enhancement

Two new options were included under the Data Retention namely Cascading to existing configuration and Apply to all new scenarios.

  • Cascading to existing configuration: As the user checks this option, the existing configuration will be overridden with the current Data Retention settings. By default, the existing configuration is selected.
  • Apply to all new scenarios: As the user checks this option, the Data Retention setting is applicable only for the newly created scenarios.

5. Folder path view in all explorers bookmarks option

  • Users can go through the folder path view as they bookmark any folder, subfolder, or file within any explorer type (Query Explorer, Scenario Explorer, and Job Explorer).

6. A new ‘Troubleshoot’ tile included in the System Preferences session page

  • A new tile ‘Troubleshoot’ was added to the System Preferences under the ADMIN CONSOLE tab. With this preference setting, an Admin pro-user can troubleshoot the Folder Paths related issues at the click of a button.

7. Visual Queries pattern added to all JDBC connection type profiles

  • An enhancement regarding the addition of visual query patterns is included with respect to all JDBC connection type profiles. Now, users can drag the required SQL visual queries from the navigator drop-down button and execute them accordingly.

8. Code optimization for content count and explorers.

  • Code optimization is done for the content counts of all Folders and the 'load more' button option with respect to all explorer types. As a result of this code optimization, the explorers’ session page loading and load more performance has increased significantly.

9. COCKPIT widgets code optimizations

  • Code optimization is done with respect to all individual widgets that are present in the COCKPIT module. A sequel is run independently for each selected widget type extracting the related widget’s data considerably in a less period of time. Reconciliations, Database Metrics, Validations, Asset Inventory, Security, and System Activity are the different widgets present in the COCKPIT module.

10. Send Email for existing sessions from exceptions summary pages and session history

Users can now send an email both from the ‘Exceptions summary page’ and the ‘Session history page’ of that particular scenario. You have 2 email sending options namely Send Email and Send Email With Changes.

  • Send Email: When you click this option either in the Scenario exceptions or session history page, the email is delivered to the default email address that was added in the Email settings widget while creating that particular scenario.
  • Send Email With Changes: When you click this option either in the Scenario exceptions or session history page, a pop-up window ‘Email With Changes’ is displayed from where you can modify or make certain changes and send the email accordingly.
