Recycle Bin
Restore deleted profiles, queries, scenarios, and other assets before the retention period expires.
Recycle Bin is a new feature included as a part of the 2022.01 build. Using this feature, users can restore the deleted content such as Profiles, User Groups, Queries, Query Chains, Jobs, and all other Scenario types namely FDRs, TDRs, Validations, BDVs, and QPTs. The default retention time period is set to 30 days. Users can also change the default retention time period based on their requirements. The contents in the Recycle Bin get deleted permanently beyond the specified retention time period.
To learn about Recycle Bin, let us walk through the below procedure:
- Click the ‘ADMIN CONSOLE’ module.
- Hover on the ‘Recycle Bin’ snippet from the left pane options.
- Click the ‘Recycle Bin’ option.
- The user is navigated to the ‘Recycle Bin’ session page.
- A ‘Refresh’ button is used to refresh the ‘Recycle Bin’ session page.
- An ‘Export to CSV’ button is used to download the ‘Recycle Bin’ contents into a CSV file.
- A ‘Search’ box is used to search any content from the ‘Recycle Bin’ session page.
- Click the ‘Recycle Bin info’ button.
- A ‘RecycleBin Usage Info’ pop-up window is displayed.
- Users can view info on different buttons such as Delete, Restore, and Remaining days.
- Close this window and navigate back to the ‘Recycle Bin’ session page.
- Let’s hover and click the ‘Data Retention’ box to change the number of days.
Note: By default, the Data Retention is set to 30 days.
- A green tick mark and cross (x) buttons are displayed.
Note: After changing the ‘Data Retention’ period, the user can click the green tick mark button to save the changes and cross the (x) button to close the ‘Data Retention’ settings without any modifications.
- Let’s suppose change the ‘Data Retention’ period to 29 days.
- Click the green tick mark button.
- A toaster message ‘Retention value should be greater than 30’ is displayed on the top right corner of the page.
Note: The user cannot change the Data Retention period below 30 days.
- Let’s change the ‘Data Retention’ period to 40 days.
- Click the green tick mark button.
- A toaster message ‘Retention value successfully changed’ is displayed on the top right corner of the page.
- Let’s type and search for the name ‘bhanu’ in the search box.
- Let’s check the first checkbox (Salesforce nonstandard profile).
- Click the ‘Restore’ button.
- A ‘Restore Objects’ pop-up window is displayed.
- Click the ‘Restore’ button.
- A toaster message ‘Selected objects successfully restored’ is displayed on the top right corner of the page.
- Add ‘Salesforce nonstandard profile’ text in the Profiles session ‘Search box’ field.
- The user notices the profile (Salesforce nonstandard profile) has been restored.
- Let’s again select the same profile (Salesforce nonstandard profile) from the ‘Profiles’ session page.
- Click the ‘Delete’ button.
- A ‘Delete Profile’ pop-up window is displayed.
- Click the ‘Delete’ button.
- A toaster message ‘Profile ‘Salesforce nonstandard profile’ successfully moved to recycle bin!’ is displayed on the top right corner of the page.
- Close this window and navigate back to the ‘Recycle Bin’ session page.
- The user notices that the deleted profile (Salesforce nonstandard profile) is moved to the ‘Recycle Bin’ session page and the Data Retention (Remaining Days) is displayed as 40 days.
- Let’s check the same profile (Salesforce nonstandard profile).
- Click the ‘Delete’ button.
- A ‘Delete Objects’ pop-up window is displayed.
- Click the ‘Delete’ button.
- A toaster message ‘Selected objects successfully deleted!’ is displayed on the top right corner of the page.
