CMS — Query Chains: Export and Import
Export Query Chain definitions and import them into another Data Trust environment, with connection profile mapping.
Overview
The Query Chains tab in the Content Management System allows administrators to export Query Chain definitions and import them into another Data Trust environment. During import, you can review and switch the connection profiles used by each Query Chain before completing the migration.
Navigating to Content Management

In the Admin Console left sidebar, click Content Management to open the CMS page.

The CMS page opens on the Queries tab by default. The four tabs (Queries, Query Chains, Scenarios, Jobs) are visible at the top. Click Query Chains to switch to the Query Chain export/import view.

Click the Query Chains tab. The filter bar updates to show fields relevant to Query Chains: Created On date range and Created By user dropdown. The Export radio button is selected by default.
Exporting Query Chains
- Set the date and user filters, then click Get QueryChains.

Use the Created On date range and Created By user dropdown to filter which Query Chains to load. Set a Folder if needed. Click Get QueryChains to load the matching results.
- Review the loaded Query Chains list.

The list loads showing QueryChain Name, User Name, and Created On for each Query Chain. The total count is shown in the pagination area at the bottom.
- Select all Query Chains and click Generate Export File.

Check the Select All header checkbox to select every Query Chain in the list, then click Generate Export File. Data Trust packages all selected Query Chains into a single export file.
- The file downloads automatically.

The export file is generated and downloaded to your computer. This file contains the complete definitions of all selected Query Chains and is used during the import step in the target environment.
Importing Query Chains
- Switch the toggle to Import.

Click the Import radio button in the top-right toggle. The view changes to the import panel with a Choose file button and the two-panel shuttle interface.
- Load the export file.

Click Choose file and select the Query Chains export file from your computer. The Query Chains from the file load into the left panel of the shuttle.
- Click Select All to move all Query Chains to the right panel.

Click the ›› (double right arrow / Select All) button to move all loaded Query Chains from the left panel to the right (selected for import) panel at once.
- Review and switch connection profiles in the popup.

After selecting Query Chains for import, the Review/Switch Connection Profiles popup appears automatically. This popup lists each Query Chain and its Available Connections dropdowns. If the connection names from the source environment do not exist in the target, use the dropdowns to map each connection to the correct profile in this environment. Click Continue when all mappings are confirmed.
- Deselect any Query Chains not needed.

To clear the right panel entirely and start fresh, click the ‹‹ (Deselect All) button. All Query Chains move back to the left panel.
- Use individual Select and Deselect buttons for fine-grained control.

Highlight a single Query Chain in the left panel and click › to move only that one to the right panel. This is useful when you need to import a specific subset of Query Chains.
- Remove specific items from the selection.

Highlight a Query Chain in the right panel and click ‹ to remove only that item from the import selection. The other selected Query Chains remain in the right panel, ready for migration.
After confirming the right panel contains the correct Query Chains and setting the destination Folder Path, click Migrate to complete the import.
