Security
The Security tile is a part of the COCKPIT module. It gives the summary of the users in the system. The key points highlighted are:
- The total number of users
- Total user groups
To learn about the Security tile, let us walk through the below procedure:
- Click the ‘COCKPIT’ module.
- View the ‘Security’ tile.
Path: COCKPIT > Security
- A ‘Refresh’ button is used to refresh the ‘Security’ session page.
- Click the ‘Users’ option.
- The user is navigated to ‘All Users’ tab.
- An ‘Export to CSV’ button is used to download the All Users details into a CSV file.
- A ‘Search’ box is used to search a particular user.
- Below the All Users tab, the details of used/total Pro Users and Display Users License Keys are displayed.
Path: COCKPIT > Security > Users
- Let’s suppose checkbox ‘David Philips’ from the User Name column.
- The button options such as Edit, Delete, Login History, and User Status are enabled.
Note: The user must select only one User Name at a time to enable these buttons.
Note: A ‘Refresh’ button is used to refresh the ‘All Users’ tab session page.
- Click the ‘Edit’ button.
- An ‘Edit User’ pop-up window is displayed.
- Click the ‘Save’ button after making modifications.
Note: The ‘Email’ text field is blurred due to confidential reasons.
- A message ‘David Philips Modified successfully” is displayed on the top right corner of the page.
- Now let’s click the ‘Delete’ button.
- A ‘Delete User’ pop-up window is displayed.
Note: By default, Delete Type is switched to Soft Delete.
- Let’s suppose enable the toggle button to Permanent Delete. This button removes the user completely.
- Click the ‘Delete’ button.
- A message ‘Please select a user to transfer content history of deleting user’ is displayed on the top right corner of the page.
Note: Without transferring the user content, it is not possible to delete the selected user.
- Let’s suppose select ‘Bhanu’ from the drop-down list.
Note: The ‘David Philips’ user’s data is transferred to ‘Bhanu’ user.
- A message ‘David philips Deleted successfully’ is displayed on the top right corner of the page.
- Clicking the ‘Logged in User’ tab displays the current Logged in users.
- Click the plus ‘(+) User’ button.
- A ‘Create User’ pop-up window is displayed.
- Let’s suppose fill in all the text fields such as User Name, First Name, Last Name, Email, Password, Confirm Password, User Type (Pro and Display drop-down list options), and two checkbox options namely Administrator and Active Directory Authentication as shown in the below screenshot.
Note: If the user selects the User Type as Display User, then the Administrator checkbox is disabled.
- Click the ‘Save’ button.
Note: The user can also go through the info descriptions by hovering on it.
- A message ‘David Philips Created Successfully’ is displayed on the top right corner of the page.
- The user can view the ‘David Philips’ user within All Users tabs.
- Click the ‘Locked Users.’
- The user is navigated to the ‘Locked Users’ session page.
- Now click the ‘User Groups’ option from the Security tile from the COCKPIT module.
Path: COCKPIT > Security
- The user is navigated to the ‘User Groups’ session page.
- A ‘Refresh’ button is used to refresh the User Groups session page.
- A ‘Search’ box is used to search for any available User Groups.
Path: COCKPIT > Security > User Groups
- Let’s suppose select ‘Security’ from the ‘Group Name’ column.
Note: Users and Profiles pop-up screens are displayed when the user selects any User Group name checkbox.
- Click the ‘Edit’ button.
- An ‘Edit User Group’ pop-up window is displayed.
- Let’s suppose add the text ‘Security’ under ‘Description’ field.
- Click the ‘Update’ button.
- A message ‘User group updated successfully’ is displayed on the top right corner of the page.
- Click the ‘Delete’ button.
- A ‘Delete’ pop-up window is displayed.
- A message “User group deleted successfully” is displayed on the top right corner of the page.
- Click the plus (+) User Group button.
- A ‘Create User Group’ pop-up window is displayed.
- Let’s suppose fill in the text fields such as Group Name, Description, Users, and Profiles.
- Click the ‘Save’ button.
- A message ‘User group saved successfully’ is displayed on the top right corner of the page.
- The ‘Security’ is successfully added under the User Groups.
- Click the ‘Close’ button to remove the ‘Security’ tile from the COCKPIT module.
