Reporting — Create Custom Report Views Using Filters
Build and save multiple personalized dashboard views by combining Global Filter criteria — switch between different filtered perspectives instantly.
Overview
Data Trust Reporting dashboards support creating multiple personalized report views by applying different Global Filter combinations and saving each as a separate named report. This lets users switch instantly between tailored views — such as your own scenarios, a specific job's failures, or a specific user's history — without reapplying filters each time.
Prerequisites
- You are logged in to Data Trust with a Pro-User or Admin Pro-User role.
- At least one Reporting dashboard contains executed scenario data.
Creating a Filtered Report View
Path: Data Trust › Reporting › Any Dashboard › Global FilterClick the filter icon in the dashboard toolbar to open the Global Filters panel and begin defining the criteria for your first custom report view. The filter icon is visible in the top toolbar on all Reporting dashboards, making it easy to start building a custom view from any point in the Reporting module.
The Global Filter panel lets you select filter criteria — User, Job, Scenario, Status, Date Range — to define the exact scope of your custom report view. Each filter criterion narrows the dashboard independently, and you can combine multiple criteria to create highly targeted views for specific audiences or analysis objectives.
Selecting a specific user in the Global Filter panel scopes the entire dashboard to show only scenarios owned by or executed by that individual. This user-level filter is particularly useful for team leads who want to review the data quality output of a specific team member without mixing in other users' results.
After applying the user filter, the dashboard refreshes to display only the execution counts and scenario results relevant to the selected user. Every widget and count tile on the dashboard updates simultaneously, ensuring a consistent user-scoped view across all metrics.
The resulting filtered view shows a personalized report containing only the scenarios and quality metrics that belong to the selected user. This view can now be saved as a named report so you can reload the same user-scoped perspective in future sessions without reapplying the filter.
Saving the Filtered View
A success confirmation appears after saving the filtered view, indicating the current filter configuration has been stored as a named report in your report library. The saved report captures the exact filter state at the time of saving, so loading it in the future will always produce the same scoped view.
Click the All Reports button in the toolbar to open the Saved Reports panel and see all report configurations you have created, including the one you just saved. The All Reports button is always visible in the toolbar so you can access your report library at any time without leaving the current dashboard.
The Saved Reports pop-up lists all saved report configurations, each with its name, access level, and a Load button for instant retrieval. The newly saved user-filtered report appears in this list alongside any other saved views, allowing you to manage all your custom reports from one place.
Click the View Report button on any saved report entry to instantly load that report's filter configuration and refresh the dashboard with the saved criteria. Using View Report is faster than manually reapplying filters and ensures you always see the exact same scoped view that was saved, without accidental changes.
Creating Additional Custom Views
Repeat the filter and save process with a different user selected to create a second custom report that coexists alongside the first in the Saved Reports panel. Having multiple user-scoped reports lets team managers quickly switch between individual performance views without any manual filter configuration.
Use the Profile filter option in the Global Filter panel to create a report view scoped to a specific data profile rather than individual scenarios or users. Profile-based filtering is useful when your organization structures data quality work around named data domains or business profiles that own multiple scenarios.
Click the Save Report button to overwrite the current named report with the latest filter settings, updating the existing report rather than creating a new one. Use Save Report when you want to update an existing view — for example, adjusting the date range on a recurring weekly report.
Click Save Report As to always create a brand-new named report entry, preserving the original version while saving the updated view under a new name. Using Save Report As ensures you never accidentally overwrite a previously saved report that other team members may rely on.
A second custom report filtered to show only a specific user's validation scenario results, saved as a distinct named report entry in the panel. This demonstrates how a single dashboard can serve multiple audiences simultaneously — each user or team can have their own tailored view saved for instant access.
The save confirmation toaster appears at the top of the screen confirming the new custom report view has been saved successfully and is now available in the panel. This confirmation gives immediate feedback and includes the report name so you can verify the correct configuration was saved.
Opening the All Reports panel after saving multiple custom views shows all your saved report configurations listed together in one place. Each entry in the list represents a different filter configuration, giving you a library of ready-to-use dashboard perspectives accessible with a single click.
The Saved Reports panel displaying multiple custom report entries side by side, each representing a distinct filter combination saved for a different team or analysis purpose. Managing your report library from this panel — loading, updating, or deleting reports — keeps your Reporting module organized and efficient for the whole team.
