This document explains how to bulk copy scenarios/queries/jobs from one location to the other within the system. This is very helpful in cases where we need the same queries for different profiles and makes the work easier. If you want to do bulk data copy on our tool, follow these steps-
- Log in and click on the Admin Console tab.
- From the options on the side panel select Content Management.
- You will reach the screen for options to migrate data.
Bulk Copy:
In this option you can select the data you want to copy or move from source to destination folder. To select the data for filtering you can use one or all of the following filter options.
- Profile Name – Select the profile name from which you have created the query you want to use.
- Created on – Filter the queries based on the date when they were created.
- Created by – Filter the queries based on the person who created them.
- Folder – Select the folder where the queries are saved.
Bulk Copy of Queries:
- Select the Queries option.
- Toggle the button on the top panel from Export/Import to Bulk Copy.
- After setting the filter options, click on the button ‘Get Queries’ and the queries will be populated.
- From the list of queries populated, you can either select all the queries or select individual queries to migrate.
- You can even shift it from one profile to another individual or cascade all queries to a single desired profile using the ‘Cascade’ button.
- From the panel where queries get populated, you can select your desired option from the toggle button. If you select the copy option a copy of the original query is made in the destination folder. If you toggle to the move option, the entire query is shifted to the destination folder and no copy remains in the source folder.
- Select the folder path where you want to save it and click on migrate.
Bulk Copy of Query Chains:
To populate the list of query chains we use the same procedure. Once the query chains are populated we select the query chains that we want to move, and then select the desired profiles for them as follows:
After setting the profiles you can then migrate the query chains to the desired destination folder.
Bulk Copy of Scenarios:
The list of scenarios is populated in the same way as before, just by selecting the Scenarios tab and filtering the desired data. Once the scenarios are populated we can select the scenarios for copying to the destination folder. You can then change the profiles for the source or target if you want in the following window.
You can use the Cascade Unique button to switch one unique profile to another for all instances of that profile in the selected list.
For instance, in the above example, we can change all instances of DX Snowflake to MSSQL Northwind by just selecting that profile from the dropdown.
Bulk Copy of Jobs:
For the bulk copy of jobs, we populate the list of jobs by filtering based on our requirements. Once the list is populated we can then select the jobs that we want to copy. We can even change the profile of the jobs in the following window.
Saving the Changes
For any of the above data, once we complete selecting, filtering, and switching profiles, we need to save it in the destination folder. Once you click on the migrate button the following window appears where you can select the folder to save the data.
