Reporting — Data Quality Metrics Dashboard
Monitor scenario execution health across all FDR, Validation, and TDR scenarios with status breakdowns, bar views, filters, and email sharing.
Overview
The Data Quality Metrics Dashboard is the primary reporting hub in Data Trust. It presents an at-a-glance summary of all scenario execution results — Passed, Failed, Warning, and Informational — across your entire organization or for a specific user.
The dashboard supports multiple views (Summary, Bar), global filters, saved report configurations, email sharing, and deep drill-down into individual scenario exceptions.
Prerequisites
- You are logged in to Data Trust with a Pro-User or Admin Pro-User role.
- At least one scenario (FDR, Validation, or TDR) has been executed.
Accessing the Dashboard
Path: Data Trust › Reporting › Data Quality Metrics DashboardThis is the default landing page of the Reporting module, showing all scenario execution results grouped by status: Passed, Failed, Warning, and Information. Each status tile displays the total count of executions in that category for the selected time period, giving you an instant snapshot of your data quality health.
- Log in to Data Trust and click Reporting in the left-hand navigation.
- Select Data Quality Metrics Dashboard from the Reporting sub-menu.
The dashboard loads with status count tiles and trend charts.
Understanding the Summary View
The Summary view shows total execution counts per status. Each tile is interactive — clicking it narrows the scenario list to only that status.
Clicking the Total Scenarios count opens a detail panel that lists every individual scenario execution with its name, status, execution timestamp, and result metrics. This breakdown helps you quickly cross-reference which specific scenarios contributed to the overall count without navigating away from the dashboard.
Filtering Results by Status
Use the status tabs — Passed, Failed, Warning, and Information — to filter both the count tiles and the scenario list below them.
Passed Scenarios
Selecting the Passed tab filters the dashboard to display only FDR and validation scenarios that completed successfully, confirming that source and target data are fully reconciled. The scenario list updates immediately to show only the passing executions, along with their execution time and matched record counts.
Clicking a scenario name on the Passed tab opens the FDR Summary page, showing matched record counts, exception details, and the complete reconciliation output for that execution. Use this page to verify exactly which records matched between the source and target, and to review any minor discrepancies captured as exceptions.
Failed Scenarios
The Failed tab filters the dashboard to show only scenarios that did not meet their pass criteria, helping you immediately identify which reconciliations or validations need attention. Failed scenarios are listed with their failure count and the most recent execution date so you can prioritize which issues to investigate first.
The Failed FDR Summary page displays the full exception detail for a failed reconciliation scenario, including source-to-target record mismatches, exception counts by category, and failure reasons. Review this page to understand the root cause of the failure and determine whether the issue is in the source data, the target data, or the reconciliation rule configuration.
Warning Scenarios
The Warning tab shows scenarios that completed execution but triggered warning thresholds — these are scenarios that passed overall but contain specific records flagged for closer review. Warning-status scenarios are important to monitor because they may indicate emerging data quality issues that have not yet escalated to full failures.
The Warning FDR Summary page provides details of the records and conditions that triggered the warning status for the selected scenario. Review the flagged records and exception details on this page to decide whether the warning requires corrective action or can be accepted within your data quality thresholds.
Information Scenarios
The Information tab displays scenarios that ran and produced informational results — executions that completed without triggering pass, fail, or warning thresholds. These scenarios are typically audit or monitoring runs where the output is logged for reference rather than to indicate a quality problem.
The Information FDR Summary page shows the output details for informational scenarios, providing context on what the scenario captured during its execution. Since no threshold was triggered, this page serves as a reference log rather than an action item, confirming the scenario ran as expected.
Switching to Bar View
Each status tab also supports a Bar View that renders a horizontal bar chart for quick visual comparison of execution counts across scenarios.
Switching to Bar View on the Passed tab displays a horizontal bar chart comparing the number of successful FDR executions per scenario over the selected time period. The longer the bar, the more passing executions that scenario has recorded, making it easy to spot your most consistently healthy reconciliations.
Clicking any bar in the Passed Bar View navigates directly to the FDR Summary page for that scenario, showing the detailed passed record counts and reconciliation output. This drill-down path lets you confirm the specifics of a successful run without losing the context of the bar chart comparison.
The Failed Bar View displays a horizontal bar chart comparing the number of failed executions per scenario, making it easy to identify scenarios with the highest failure frequency. Scenarios with longer bars in this view are candidates for priority investigation, as they indicate recurring data quality problems.
Clicking a bar in the Failed Bar View opens the exception summary for that scenario, showing the unmatched records and the specific conditions that caused each failure. Use this view to perform a focused root-cause analysis on the scenario with the most failures without switching away from the reporting context.
The Warning Bar View charts warning-status execution counts per scenario, allowing you to compare which scenarios are most frequently producing warning results. High warning counts on a specific scenario may indicate that its thresholds need to be reviewed or that the underlying data source has consistent quality fluctuations.
Clicking a bar in the Warning Bar View opens the warning detail page for that scenario, showing the specific records and rule conditions that triggered the warning status. Review the exception details here to determine whether the warning is a known acceptable variance or a signal requiring threshold adjustment.
The Information Bar View charts informational execution counts per scenario, providing a visual comparison of audit and monitoring run volumes across the selected time range. This view helps you confirm that informational scenarios are running on schedule and producing output consistently.
Clicking a bar in the Information Bar View opens the scenario's informational result page, showing the full output data captured during that execution. Use this page to review the logged reference data and confirm the scenario is capturing the expected informational output.
Using Global Filters
The Global Filters panel narrows the entire dashboard — all counts, charts, and the scenario list — to specific jobs, profiles, scenarios, or statuses.
Click the filter icon in the dashboard toolbar to open the Global Filters panel, where you can select criteria such as Job, Profile, Scenario, Status, or Date Range. Filters applied here affect all widgets and count tiles simultaneously, giving you a consistent scoped view of your data quality metrics.
After setting your filter criteria, click the Preview button to see the list of matching scenarios and their counts before applying the filter to the live dashboard. This preview step lets you validate that the filter is selecting the correct data set and avoid accidentally applying a filter that produces an empty or incorrect view.
- Click the Filter icon in the top toolbar.
- Select your desired criteria in the Global Filters panel.
- Click Preview to validate the matching results, then Apply.
The dashboard refreshes to show only scenarios matching your filter criteria.
Saving a Report
Save the current dashboard configuration — filters, view mode, and time range — as a named report for reuse at any time.
The Save Report As icon (disk icon) in the dashboard toolbar saves the current dashboard view, including all active filters and the selected view mode, as a named report. Saving a report means you can instantly restore this exact configuration in a future session without manually reapplying each filter.
The Save Report As dialog prompts you to enter a name and an optional description for the report before it is saved to your personal report library. Use a descriptive name such as 'Failed FDR — Finance Job — Last 7 Days' so the report is easy to identify when you return to it later.
A success toaster appears at the top of the screen confirming that the report has been saved and is now available in the Saved Reports panel. The confirmation includes the report name, giving you immediate feedback that the save operation completed correctly.
Loading a Saved Report
Click the Reports icon (bookmark/report icon) in the dashboard toolbar to open the Saved Reports panel, which lists all report configurations you have previously saved. This panel is the central place for managing your personal report library and accessing any saved view with a single click.
The Saved Reports panel lists all saved configurations with each report's name, access level (Private or Shared), and action buttons for loading, updating, or deleting. Click any report name to immediately reload that configuration and refresh the dashboard with the saved filters, view mode, and time range.
Sending the Dashboard by Email
The Send Email icon (envelope icon) in the toolbar lets you share the current dashboard view — including all active filters and chart data — with colleagues via email. This is useful for distributing data quality status reports to stakeholders who may not have direct access to the Data Trust Reporting module.
The Send Email dialog lets you enter one or more recipient email addresses, a subject line, and an optional personal message before sending the report. The email will include the dashboard data in the body of the message so recipients can review the quality metrics without logging in to Data Trust.
Scenario Output Tab
The Scenario Output tab provides a detailed tabular view of all executions with columns for name, status, execution time, exception counts, and result history.
The Scenario Output tab shows a comprehensive tabular grid listing every scenario execution with columns for scenario name, result status, execution time, and exception count. This view is useful when you need to compare multiple scenarios side by side or export a structured list of all executions for offline analysis.
Each scenario name in the Scenario Output tab is a clickable hyperlink that navigates directly to the full result page for that specific execution. Clicking the name saves you from searching for the scenario separately — you land immediately on the detailed output including matched records and any exceptions.
Clicking the status icon next to a scenario name opens a quick summary popup showing the scenario's pass/fail details, matched record counts, and top exception metrics. This popup gives you the key facts at a glance without fully navigating away from the Scenario Output tab.
The Scenario Exception Summary panel appears when you click the status icon and displays a categorized breakdown of all exceptions recorded for that scenario. Exceptions are grouped by type and count so you can quickly identify the most common data quality issues affecting that scenario's execution.
The Result History button in the Scenario Output tab opens a chronological timeline of all previous execution results for the selected scenario. Use this view to detect trends over time — for example, whether a scenario that is currently failing was previously passing, which can help narrow down when a data issue was introduced.
The Result History details panel lists every past execution of the selected scenario in reverse chronological order, showing status, execution date and time, and exception count for each run. This full history is essential for trend analysis and for demonstrating compliance with data quality SLAs over extended periods.
The Exceptions Count column in the Scenario Output tab displays the total number of data exceptions recorded for each scenario execution at a glance. Sorting by this column lets you quickly rank scenarios from most to fewest exceptions, helping prioritize which executions to investigate in detail.
The full Scenario Exception Summary provides a complete, categorized list of all exception types and their record counts for the selected execution. Use this detailed breakdown to perform root-cause analysis — identifying whether exceptions are concentrated in a specific data field, table, or record subset.
