Job Explorer
Overview
The Job Explorer is the central workspace in the Batch Console module where users can view, manage, and organize all batch jobs. It provides a structured listing of jobs with options to filter, search, and navigate between folders and job states.
Prerequisites
- You are logged in to Data Trust with a Pro-User or Admin Pro-User role.
- At least one batch job has been created in the system.
Steps
Path: Batch Console › Job Explorer
The Job Explorer landing page lists all batch jobs with their name, status, schedule type, and last execution time. Use this page as the starting point for managing existing jobs or creating new ones.
The Refresh button at the top of the Job Explorer reloads the job list to show the latest execution statuses. Click it any time to ensure you are viewing up-to-date job information.
The Show All toggle displays every job in the system regardless of folder or ownership. Use this when you need a full view of all jobs across all users and folders.
Switching to the Folders view organizes jobs by their assigned folder structure. This helps navigate large job libraries by grouping related jobs under logical categories.
The Content view displays jobs in a card-based layout showing key job metadata at a glance. This view is useful when you want a visual overview rather than a dense tabular list.
The Table Fields option allows you to choose which columns appear in the job list grid. Customizing visible columns helps focus on the information most relevant to your workflow.
Deselecting a field such as Path removes that column from the job list table. This streamlines the view by hiding fields you do not need for your current task.
A confirmation message appears after saving the column preference changes. The updated column layout persists for your session and reflects immediately in the grid.
The All Jobs option returns the view to the complete unfiltered job list after browsing a folder. Select it to reset the scope and see every job available to your user account.
Clicking a job row highlights it and activates action buttons in the toolbar. From here you can edit, copy, delete, or execute the selected job.
The Job Edit page opens when you click the Edit button for a selected job. Here you can modify the job name, schedule, widgets, and email settings before saving.
When a job is actively running, its status changes to Executing in the Job Explorer grid. The status updates in real time, allowing you to monitor job progress without leaving the list.
The Scheduled Jobs tab filters the list to show only jobs that have an active schedule configured. Use this tab to review upcoming executions and verify that all scheduled jobs are correctly set up.
The toolbar displays available action buttons — Edit, Copy, Delete, Execute Now — depending on the selected job. These buttons enable quick operations without navigating away from the Job Explorer.
The Global Filter panel provides controls to narrow the job list by criteria such as name, status, and owner. Applying filters is especially helpful when working with a large number of jobs.
Enter the desired values in the filter fields to refine the job list. You can combine multiple filter criteria — for example, filter by status and owner simultaneously.
After applying filters, the grid updates to show only the jobs that match the specified criteria. The active filters are indicated so you know the current view is narrowed.
Right-clicking or using the toolbar exposes the Create Folder option to add a new folder for organizing jobs. Folders help categorize jobs by project, team, or purpose.
The Create Folder popup prompts you to enter a name for the new folder. Provide a descriptive name that reflects the grouping intent, then confirm to create it.
The newly created folder appears in the Job Explorer sidebar and folder view. You can now move existing jobs into it or create new jobs directly within the folder.
The Create New Job option launches the Job Designer wizard to build a new batch job from scratch. Select it from the toolbar or the right-click context menu in the Job Explorer.
The Create Job page is the starting point for configuring a new batch job. Provide a name and then drag widgets onto the canvas to define the job's execution logic.
