Job Execution using Execute On
Overview
The Execute On widget allows you to schedule a batch job to run at a specific date and time. This guide walks through configuring an Execute On schedule, adding data widgets, setting up email notifications, and verifying the scheduled job in Job Explorer.
Prerequisites
- You are logged in to Data Trust with a Pro-User or Admin Pro-User role.
- At least one Scenario or Query Chain exists for selection.
Steps
Path: Batch Console › Job Designer › Schedule — Execute On
Open the Job Designer by selecting it from the Batch Console module. The designer canvas is where you will drag and drop widgets to build your job.
Drag the Execute On widget from the palette and drop it onto the canvas. This widget defines a one-time execution time for the job.
The Execute On popup opens, allowing you to select the specific date and time for the job to run. Set the date, hour, and minute, then save the widget to apply the schedule.
After saving, the Execute On widget on the canvas confirms the scheduled execution date and time. The job will automatically trigger at the configured time without requiring manual intervention.
Add the FDR widget to the canvas to include Full Data Reconciliation scenarios in the job. Drag it from the palette and place it alongside the Execute On widget.
In the FDR widget popup, check the scenarios you want to include in the job execution. Only the selected scenarios will run when the Execute On schedule triggers.
Add the Validation widget to include validation scenarios alongside the FDR scenarios. Multiple widget types can coexist on the same job canvas.
Choose the validation scenarios from the popup list and click Save to confirm the widget. The canvas will update to show the number of selected validations.
Review the Additional Options tab to configure job-level settings such as email notifications on failure. These settings apply to the entire job execution, not individual widgets.
Add the Email widget to send an automated result summary after the job completes. Place the Email widget on the canvas and open it to configure recipient details.
Enter the recipient addresses and subject in the Email widget popup, then save. The email will be dispatched automatically after each job execution finishes.
Click the Schedule Option button to finalize the job and save it with the Execute On schedule. This transitions the job from design mode to scheduled mode.
The Scheduled tab in Job Explorer shows all jobs that have an active schedule configured. Your new Execute On job should appear here with its scheduled execution time.
Locate the job in the Scheduled tab and confirm that the execution time matches what you configured. The job will remain in Scheduled status until the designated time arrives.
