Security — Search Provision in User Groups

Use the Search feature in the Users and Connections columns to quickly locate group members and access.

Note: You are logged in to Data Trust with an Admin Pro-User role. This article describes the Search feature added to the Users and Connections columns in User Groups.

Overview

A Search feature has been added to the Users and Connections inline columns in the User Groups list. When a group has many members or connections, administrators can quickly locate a specific user or connection name without scrolling through the full list.

Navigating to User Groups

In the left sidebar, click Security and then User Groups to open the User Groups page.

The User Groups page lists all groups. Each row shows the Group Name, Group Description, Created On, Created By, Modified On, and Modified By. Selecting a group row reveals the Users and Connections columns with their respective action icons.

When a group row is selected (checked), the Users and Connections columns appear on the right side of the list. Each column header now includes a small Search icon (magnifying glass). Click this icon to activate the search field for that column.

Using the Search in Users and Connections

Click the Search (magnifying glass) icon in the Users or Connections column header.

Clicking the search icon expands a text input field within the column header. Type a username or connection name to instantly filter the column's displayed values to matching entries.
Type the search term and view the filtered results.

As you type, the Users and Connections columns update in real time to show only entries that match your search term. In this example, the Users column shows the members of the selected 'QA Team' group, and the Connections column shows only the connections matching the search. This makes it fast to confirm whether a specific user or connection is part of a group, even in large organisations with many entries.

Tip: Use the Search feature in the Connections column to quickly check which groups have access to a particular database connection — helpful for auditing access controls.
