Tableau reports validation in TDR

‘Tableau’ is added as a Data Source in TDR (Technical Data Reconciliation). Now, the user can select Tableau reports for bulk data validations. Note only Published reports can be validated and default filter values will be considered during validation.

To learn more, let us walk through the below procedure:

• Click the ‘SCENARIO STUDIO’ module.
• Hover on the ‘Scenario Builder’ snippet from the left pane options.
• Click the ‘Technical Data Recon’ button.

Note: The user can also click the ‘Create TDR Scenario’ button.

Path: SCENARIO STUDIO > Scenario Builder > Technical Data Recon

• The user is navigated to the TDR Scenario session page in create and edit mode.

• From the Data Source tab, let’s drag and drop the ‘Tableau’ icon onto TDR session page.
• Click the ‘Tableau’ widget.

• A ‘Tableau’ pop-up window is displayed.

• Let’s select the ‘Connection Name’ drop-down list as ‘Tableau Latest Profile_Livewire’.

Note: The Parallelism, Packet Size, Server, PersonalAccessTokenName, PersonalAccessTokenSecret, and ApiVersion are displayed immediately after the ‘Connection Name’ drop-down list selection.

• Click the ‘Select’ button.

• This action closes the ‘Tableau’ widget saving its data.
• The user is navigated to the TDR scenario session page.

• From the Data Source tab, let’s drag and drop another ‘Tableau’ icon onto TDR session page.
• Click the ‘Tableau’ widget.

• A ‘Tableau’ pop-up window is displayed.

• Let’s select the ‘Connection Name’ drop-down list as ‘Tableau Latest Profile_Livewire’.

Note: The Parallelism, Packet Size, Server, PersonalAccessTokenName, PersonalAccessTokenSecret, and ApiVersion are displayed immediately after the ‘Connection Name’ drop-down list selection.

• Click the ‘Select’ button.

• This action closes the ‘Tableau’ widget saving its data.
• The user is navigated to the TDR scenario session page.
• Click the ‘Compare’ tab.

• Let’s drag and drop the ‘Count Compare’ icon onto TDR session page.

Note: The ‘Count Compare’ icon gets disabled as the user drags it onto TDR session page.

• Click the ‘Count Compare’ widget.

• A ‘Count Compare’ pop-up window is displayed.
• Let’s click the ‘Filter’ button on the left side grid.

• A ‘Filter’ slide screen is displayed.
• Let’s select ‘Default’ from the ‘Site’ drop-down list.
• Click the ‘Get Metadata’ button.

• This action populates the metadata.
• Let’s click the ‘Filter’ button from the right-side grid.

• A ‘Filter’ slide screen is displayed.
• Let’s select ‘Default’ from the ‘Site’ drop-down list.
• Click the ‘Get Metadata’ button.

• This action populates the metadata.

• Let’s map the first three columns from both the grids.
• Click the ‘Save’ button.

• This action closes the ‘Count Compare’ widget saving its data.
• Click the ‘Execute Now’ button.

• This action navigates the user to the ‘Technical Data Reconciliation Exceptions’ result page.
