Job Designer

Job Designer is a part of BATCH CONSOLE module. Job Designer can group the scenarios logically to find a pendency if any and configure the execution. The Job Designer has three types of scheduling options namely Execute Now, Execute On, and Repeat Schedule.

  1. Execute Now: Execute Now schedules the Job immediately as you perform the execution.
  2. Execute On: Execute On schedules the Job at a specific future date and time.
  3. Repeat Scheduler: Repeat Schedule schedules a Job at a specific future point of time (Minutes, Hours, Day, or Month) and here the Job execution is repetitive.

To learn about Job Designer, let us walk through the below procedure:

  • Click the BATCH CONSOLE tab.
  • Hover on the ‘Job Designer’ snippet from the left pane options.
  • Click the ‘Job Designer’ option.

Note: Users can either click the ‘Job Designer’ option or ‘Create New Job’ button to open a new Job session page.

  • The user is navigated to a new Job session page in create and edit mode.

Under the ‘Schedule’ tab, three icons namely Execute Now, Execute On, and Repeat Schedule are displayed as shown here:

  1. Execute Now: Execute Now schedules the Job immediately as you perform the execution.
  2. Execute On: Execute On schedules the Job at a specific future date and time.
  3. Repeat Scheduler: Repeat Schedule schedules a Job at a specific future point of time (Minutes, Hours, Day, or Month) and here the Job execution is repetitive.
  • A ‘Create New’ button is used to open a new ‘Job Designer’ session page.
  • ‘Return to Explorer’ button is used to navigate back to the ‘Job Explorer’ session page.

  • Let’s suppose, from the ‘Schedule’ tab, drag and drop ‘Execute Now’ widget onto Job Designer session page.

Note: The ‘Execute Now’ icon gets disabled as the user drags it onto Job Designer create and edit page.

  • Click the ‘Objects’ tab.

  • Different icons such as FDR Scenarios, Validation Scenarios, Bulk Data Validation Scenarios, TDR Scenarios, Query Chains, REST API, SOAP API, and Condition are displayed.

  • Let’s suppose, from the ‘Objects’ tab, drag and drop ‘FDR Scenarios’ and ‘Validation Scenarios’ icons onto Job Designer create and edit page.
  • Click the ‘FDR Scenario 5’ widget.

  • An ‘FDR Scenario 5’ pop-up window is displayed.
  • By default, a toggle enabled to ‘Show All’ mode is displayed.
  • A ‘Search box’ option is present at the top right side by which the user can search any FDR scenario based on Scenario Name, Description, Created By, or Created On.
  • Let’s suppose checkbox the first two scenarios from the ‘Scenario Name’ column.

  • Now enable the toggle switch to ‘Show Selected’ mode.
  • As a result, the checked scenarios are only displayed.
  • Click the ‘Filter’ button.

  • A ‘Filter’ slide screen is displayed and a user can filter based on Profile, Created On, Created By, and Folder Path options.
  • A ‘Filter’ button is used to extract the filter results.
  • Close the ‘Filter’ slide screen and navigate back to the ‘FDR Scenario 5’ pop-up window.

  • Click the ‘AddSettings’ button.

  • An ‘Additional Settings’ slide screen is displayed with ‘Parallelism’ text field option and is set to 2 by default.
  • A ‘Reset to Default’ button is used to reset the ‘Parallelism’ to default number (2) when changed.
  • Hovering on the ‘Info’ button displays the information.
  • Close the ‘Additional Settings’ pop-up slide screen.

  • Click the ‘Select’ button.

  • The ‘FDR Scenario 5’ pop-up window is closed saving the widget details.
  • The user is navigated to the Job Designer session page.
  • Click the ‘Validation Scenario 7’ widget.

  • A ‘Validation Scenario 7’ pop-up window is displayed.
  • Let’s suppose check box the first two validation scenarios and click the ‘Select’ button.

  • The ‘Validation Scenario 7’ pop-up window is closed saving the widget details.
  • The user is navigated to the Job Designer session page.
  • Click the ‘Additional Options’ tab.

Note: ‘Duplicate Job’ and ‘Generate offline result report’ buttons are enabled.

  • Three icons namely Email (Overall), Email (Condition), and XRAY are displayed.

  • Let’s suppose from the ‘Additional Options’ tab, drag and drop the ‘Email (Overall)’ icon on to the Job Designer session page.

Note: ‘Email (Overall)’ icon gets disabled as the user drags it on to Job Designer session page.

  • Click the ‘Email (Overall) 8’ widget.

  • An ‘Email (Overall) 8’ pop-up window is displayed.
  • The user can view five checkbox options such as Email when atleast one scenario in the job failed, Email when all the scenarios are passed, Generate Result File and Include Download Link, Generate Pdf File and Include Attachment, and Attach External Job Report Link.
  • Apart from these checkbox options, different text field options such as Email Subject, Email From, Email Priority, and Email Template are displayed.
  • Let’s suppose checkbox and add the Email address for the first two text field options (Email when atleast one scenario in the job failed and Email when all the scenarios are passed).
  • Click the ‘Save’ button.

Note: Email fields are greyed due to confidential data.

  • An ‘Email (Overall) 8’ pop-up window is closed saving the widget details.
  • The user is navigated to the Job Designer session page.
  • Click the ‘Execute Now’ button.

  • The Job is executed showing the exceptions data.
  • A monitor mode is enabled.
  • Click the ‘Job Result Summary Report’ button.

  • Let’s suppose click the first scenario (Anilkumar 2/2/2022 2:46:44 PM) from the ‘Scenario Name’ column.

  • The user is navigated to that particular scenario in create and edit mode.
  • Close this window and navigate back to the ‘Job Result Summary Report1 – RDAdmin 2/4/2022 10:39:34 AM’ session page.

  • Click the number ‘0’ from the ‘Exceptions Count’ column.

  • The user is navigated to the ‘Validations Scenario Exceptions’ session page of that particular scenario.

  • The user receives the Job execution email with details as shown here.
