Query Studio (Global Query Settings)

This document explains the Global Query Settings which is a part of System Preferences session page. Using Global Query Settings, the user can set all the queries related to functionalities like Scalar and Aggregate Functions. Apart from these functionalities, the user can also set other query parameters like Joins, Join Operators, Filter Operators, Summary Data Types, Non-Summary Data Types, and Additional Settings.

• Click the ADMIN CONSOLE tab.
• Hover on the left-hand side of the application to view available options.
• Click the System Preferences option.
• Now the user can view the Preferences page.
• Under the Preferences page, a couple of tiles are displayed.
• Click the Query Studio (Global Query Settings) tile.

• Clicking the Query Studio navigates to the below screen which contains information about different profiles on the left-hand side.
• Besides the profiles section, a couple of tabs are displayed such as Scalar Functions, Aggregate Functions, Joins, Join Operators, Filter Operations, Summary Data Types, Non-Summary Data Types, and Additional Settings related to the MSSQL profile.

Note: By default, the Query Studio (Global Query Settings) page displays the MSSQL profile and its corresponding tabs on the right side of the page. Also, the Scalar Functions tab is selected.

• Click the Add button to view Create pop-up window.
• In the Create pop-up window, the user is prompted to type a valid name in the Scalar Function text field.

Note: The Scalar Function text field doesn’t accept special characters.

• Once the Scalar Function text field is filled (for eg.’ TEST’), click the Create button.
• A “TEST Created successfully” message appears on the top of the screen.
• The newly created “TEST” Scalar Function appears under the Scalar Functions tabular grid.
• Additionally, the “TEST Created successfully” message also appears on the bottom left side of the page.
• The user can Edit/Delete the newly created or existing Scalar Functions.

Note: As similar to the Scalar Functions tab, other tabs too have the same Add, Edit, and Delete buttons except the Additional Settings tab.

• Click the Additional Settings tab to configure more settings related to MSSQL profile queries.
• A couple of text fields and checkboxes are to be filled by the user to proceed further.

Note: Hover on the information icon  to learn about the text fields and checkboxes limitations.

1. Maximum # of Hits 1 text field: Maximum number of users that can simultaneously log in.
2. Distinct Rows checkbox: Shows only distinct rows.
3. Default Nav Loading text field: Inserts the default number of navigator items to be loaded.
4. Auto Save In Edit checkbox: Saves changes automatically in edit mode.
5. Auto Save In Seconds text field: Inserts the time interval for saving automatically.

• To confirm the Additional Settings changes, click the Save/Update button.

Note: All the Additional Settings text fields only accept numerical values.

• A “Query Builder Settings Updated successfully” message appears on the top of the screen.
• Additionally, “Query Builder Settings Updated successfully” message also appears on the bottom left side of the page.
• To go back to the Preferences session page, click the Menu button.
