Oracle JDBC Connection Profile – New params for SSH tunnel – RightData

An ‘SSH’ tunnel with SSH Host, SSH Username, and SSH PEM FILE are included within the Oracle JDBC connection profile.

To learn more, let us walk through the below procedure:

Click the ‘ADMIN CONSOLE’ module.
Hover on the left pane options and select the Profiles snippet.
Click the ‘Profiles’ option.

Path: ADMIN CONSOLE > Profiles

A ‘Profiles’ session page is displayed.
Click the plus ‘(+) Profile’ button.

A ‘Create Profile’ session page is displayed with two text fields options such as ‘Profile Name’ and ‘Source Name.’

Path: ADMIN CONSOLE > Profiles > (+) Profile

Let’s add the text ‘Oracle Profile’ in the ‘Profile Name’ field.
Select ‘Oracle’ from the ‘Source Name’ drop-down list.

Note: The Type Of Connection, Connection Parameters, and Additional Settings are displayed immediately after selecting the ‘Source Name’ drop-down list.

By default, the ‘Non JDBC’ ‘Type Of Connection’ is selected.

Let’s change the ‘Type Of Connection’ to ‘JDBC’ from ‘NON JDBC.’

Here, the user can notice an additional checkbox option ‘SSH.’

Note: By default, the ‘SSH’ option is unchecked and as a result, the fields such as SSH Host, SSH Username, SSH PEM File are in disabled mode.

Now, select and checkbox the ‘SSH’ option.

Note: As the user checkbox the ‘SSH’ option, the fields such as SSH Host, SSH Username, SSH PEM File will be enabled, and is mandatory for the user to enter the ‘SSH’ related text fields.

Later, the user can click the ‘Test Connection’ button to establish the connection and save the profile.
