Profiles option is a part of the ADMIN CONSOLE tab. All the user/users created details of profile names, source names, source types, user created details, profile created date and time, profile modified details, and profile modified date and time are displayed under this session in a tabular grid pattern.
To learn about the Profiles option, let us walk through the below procedure:
- Click the ‘ADMIN CONSOLE’ tab.
- Hover on the left pane options and select the Profiles snippet.
- Click the ‘Profiles’ option.
Path: ADMIN CONSOLE > Profiles
- A ‘Profiles’ session page is displayed.
- A ‘Refresh’ button is used to refresh the ‘Profiles’ session page.
- An ‘Export to CSV’ button is used to download all the Profiles-related information into a CSV file.
- A ‘Search’ box field is used to search for any profile-related information from the tabular grid.
- Click the plus ‘(+) Profile’ button.
- A ‘Create Profile’ session page is displayed with two text fields such as ‘Profile Name’ and ‘Source Name.’
Path: ADMIN CONSOLE > Profiles > (+) Profile
- Fill the ‘Profile Name’ and ‘Source Name’ (drop-down selection)
Note: The Type Of Connection, Connection Parameters, and Additional Settings are displayed immediately after selecting the Source Name.
Note: By default, the ‘Connection Parameters’ tab is selected.
- Let’s suppose enter the ‘Connection Parameters’ tab text fields such as Server, Database, Port, User Id, and Password details.
- Click the ‘Additional Settings’ tab.
- Under ‘Additional Settings tab, Default Parallelism, Max Parallelism, Default Packet Size, Max Packet Size, and User Groups text fields are displayed.
Note: By default, Default Parallelism, Max Parallelism, Default Packet Size, and Max Packet Size text fields are set to 1, 20, 5000, and 1000000.
Note: An info button is available for each text field which displays information when hovered.
- Fill in the User Groups text field.
- Click the ‘Connection Parameters’ tab again.
- Clicking the ‘Test Connection’ button displays a message ‘Test Connection Successful!’ on the top right corner of the page.
- Click the ‘Save’ button.
- The Profile (Redshift-QA_AWS 1) is saved successfully and is added in the ‘Profiles’ tabular grid.
- Let’s suppose checkbox the created profile (Redshift-QA_AWS 1) and click the ‘Rename’ button.
- A ‘Rename Profile’ pop-up window is displayed.
- Let’s suppose change the Profile Name from ‘Redshift-QA_AWS 1’ to ‘Redshift-QA_AWS 2.’
- Click the ‘Rename Profile’ button.
- A message ‘Redshift-QA_AWS 2Updated successfully’ is displayed on the top right corner of the page.
- Click the ‘Edit’ button.
- An ‘Edit Profile’ session page is displayed.
- Let’s suppose change the profile name from ‘Redshift-QA_AWS 2’ to ‘Redshift-QA_AWS 1’.
- Clicking the ‘Update’ button displays ‘Redshift-QA_AWS 1Updated successfully’ on the top right corner of the page.
- Click the ‘Duplicate’ button.
- A ‘Duplicate Profile’ pop-up window is displayed.
- Click the ‘Confirm’ button.
- A message “Redshift-QA_AWS 1_Copy OfCopied successfully!” is displayed on the top right corner of the page.
- Click the ‘Delete’ button.
- A ‘Delete Profile’ pop-up window is displayed.
- Click the ‘Delete’ button.
- A message ‘Redshift-QA_AWS 1_Copy Of Profile Deleted Successfully’ is displayed on the top right corner of the page.
- Click the ‘Where Used List’ option.
- A ‘Where Used List’ pop-up window is displayed.
Note: This option is useful if users wish to check if this profile is already used in any Query, Query Chain, FDR, Validation, or TDR.
- Click the ‘Test Connection’ button.
- A message ‘Test Connection Successful!’ is displayed on the top right corner of the page.
- Click the ‘Filter’ button to display a slide page that contains the details of all Profiles tabular grid columns names.
Note: By default, all Profiles tabular grid columns are checked in.
- Let’s suppose, uncheck the ‘Source Name’ from the ‘Filter’ option.
Note: When Source Name is unchecked, the Profiles tabular grid is immediately updated without it.
- Click the ‘Save’ button.
- A message ‘Profile TableFields Saved Successfully’ is displayed on the top right corner of the page.
