A new profile ‘Tableau’ that can be used in the Query builder is added within the 2021.11 build. Users can now use this profile and perform required execution operations.
To learn more, let us walk through the below procedure:
- Click the ‘QUERY STUDIO’ tab.
- Hover on the ‘Query Builder’ snippet.
- Click the ‘Query Chain’ option.
- The user is navigated to a new Query Chain session page in create and edit mode.
- From the Data Source tab, drag and drop the ‘Metadata’ icon onto the Query Chain session page.
- Click the ‘Metadata’ widget.
- A pop-up window ‘Read data from Metadata Snapshot’ is displayed.
- Select ‘Tableau Native’ from the Profile drop-down list.
- Under the Object Selection Criteria, the user can view two radio buttons. ‘Name Pattern’ and ‘Object List.’
Note: By default, the ‘Name Pattern’ radio button is selected
- If the user selects ‘Object List’, he/she needs to enter the value as per the requirement.
- Under the ‘Type Selection’ criteria, the user can view three columns as below.
- Site
- Project
- Workbook
- Let’s suppose, select the ‘Default’ option from the ‘Site’ drop-down list, ‘Default’ option from the ‘Project’ drop-down list, and ‘Account Management – 360 Degree Customer View’ from the ‘Workbook’ drop-down list.
- Click the ‘Save’ button to save the ‘Metadata’ widget.
- The user is navigated to the Query Chain session page.
- From the ‘Output’ tab, drag and drop an ‘RD Output’ icon as shown here.
Note: ‘RD Output’ icon under the ‘Output’ tab is disabled as the user drags it onto the Query Chain session page.
- Click the ‘RD Output’ widget.
- An ‘RD Output’ pop-up window is displayed.
- Click the ‘Select’ button to save the ‘RD Output’ widget.
- The user is navigated to the Query Chain session page.
- From the Additional Options tab, drag and drop the ‘Email’ icon on to Query Chain session page.
- Click the ‘Email Settings’ widget.
- An ‘Email Settings’ pop-up window is displayed.
- Add the desired email address in the ‘Email in execution status of the query chain’ text field.
Note: Email is blurred due to confidential data.
- Click the Save button.
- The ‘Email Settings’ widget is closed saving the data.
- The user is navigated to the Query Chain session page.
- Click the ‘Execute Now’ button.
- This performs the Execution.
- A green tick mark indicates successful execution.
- A Monitor mode is enabled immediately after the execution process.
- Click the count adjacent to the ‘RD Output’ widget to view the Results screen.
- The user is navigated to the ‘Results’ tab.
- The user can view similar results and the concerned screenshot is forwarded to an email address as shown here.
