Release Notes - 2020.12

Enhancements:

1. Bulk Data Validation Scenario

  • A new type of scenario that allows performing validation on multiple data sets using various in-built validation rules. This scenario performs all the validations directly on the source database leveraging pushdown logic, which improves the performance by 5X - 10X.

2. Rest-API as a datasource using Pagination and pre-request API.

  • Additional optimizations added to the rest-API connector by adding pagination capability along with pre-request API.

3. Auto-generate queries

  • A faster way to create multiple queries by uploading the definition from a local excel file. This is especially helpful when there are queries previously created for manual data testing and want to simply upload to RightData for reusability. 

4. Auto-generate FDR scenarios

  • A faster way to create "Data reconciliation scenarios" by uploading the definition from a local excel file. 

5. Bulk copy-paste of queries, scenarios including folders with content

This feature allows

- Copying one or more queries and query chains from one folder to another folder using query explorer.

- Copying of one or more scenarios from one folder to another folder using scenario explorer 

6. New report -  Reconciliation Result report in Calendar buckets

7. New report -  Rowcount compare report

8. Optimization to the data management process

  • A new widget in the cockpit for data management - this provides information on the total DB space consumed by RightData objects and the ability to slice and dice by different categories of the data.
  • Data management module in the Admin console - this provides a graphical interface to slice and dice the data by different categories and drill down to the list of tables. The administrator can choose to delete the tables from this module.

13. Tableau rest-API based connector

  • Rest-API based connector for Tableau allows to leverage all the vendor provisioned APIs to be used as datasource for performing data validation.

14. Tableau native connector using Token-based authentication

  • Creating a Tableau connection profile is changed from using a user name and password authentication to a token-based authentication, for better security control.

Bug Fixes:

  1. The issue preventing the ability to restart the middleware from the admin console is resolved
  2. In the CMS (Content Management Console), export/Import Job is disabled.
  3. The derived column (Projection transformation in the query chain) with decimal data type is not saving the truncating the decimals.

  4. In the validation scenario, the referential integrity check rule is not working when "Query" is used as a reference dataset.

  5. Query on a remote CSV file with more than 64MB is erroring out.
  6. The display should not be able to "Rest to Original" status from the scenario output tab of the Data quality metrics dashboard.
  7. When an email sent from RightData using "Custom email template", the hyperlinks are not working
