Snapshot Data from Custom SQL Query Results

Capture a versioned snapshot of custom SQL query results for comparison purposes.

Overview

This guide shows how to take a snapshot of Custom SQL query results in Data Trust. A snapshot captures the query output at a specific point in time for use as a historical reference in future reconciliation or comparison scenarios.

Note: Ensure all required connection profiles are configured in the Administration module before building queries or Query Chains in this workflow.

Prerequisites

• You are logged in to Data Trust with a Pro-User or Admin Pro-User role.
• A query with a custom SQL expression has been created and executed.

Steps

Path: Data Trust › Query Studio › Snapshot Data from Custom SQL Query Results

This step shows Start in the Snapshot Data from Custom SQL Query Results workflow. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete this configuration step before proceeding to the next stage.

Navigate to the Query Studio module and select syntax check, pretty printer options to open the Query Builder workspace. This is the starting point for creating, editing, and managing queries in Data Trust.

The Metadata tab panel configures the REST API connection including the endpoint URL, authentication method, and response mapping. Verify the connection settings and test the API call before saving to ensure the query retrieves the expected JSON payload.

Figure 5: RDOutput tab

The RD Output widget captures the final result set from the Query Chain for use in downstream processes. Configure the output name and format, then save the widget to make the results accessible to other scenarios and reports.

Figure 6: Execution progress

Monitor mode shows the live execution progress of the Query Chain as each widget processes data sequentially. Watch the progress indicators to confirm all stages complete successfully before reviewing the output.
