RightData (DataTrust) Installation

The RightData (DataTrust) installation process consists of three key components: pre-installation checklists with prerequisite software components, a self-guided core software installer, and post-installation setups, including basic tests.

Pre Installation

Verify minimum requirements

Operating System

Windows Server 2012 R2 or Higher with IIS enabled.

Hardware requirements

CPU - Minimum is 8 cores.
RAM – Minimum RAM is 32 GB.
Disk Space – Minimum disk space is 100 GB.

Database

Type: SQL Server 2012 or later
Database size: Minimum 10 GB

Login

Ensure the database is enabled for SQL Server Authentication, and create a new login with username rightdata. Ensure the user rightdata has bulk load authorization enabled.

Java run-time environment

RightData’s (DataTrust) processing engine, which is responsible for carrying out all background execution runs on Java run-time environment. It is a pre-requisite for RightData (DataTrust) software to have Java version 1.8 installed.

To verify that Java is installed, go to the Windows command prompt and execute the command java -version. Make sure version 1.8 (64-bit) is installed.

Other tools (Chrome Web browser, Notepad++)

For better productivity within the server, please make sure the following software is installed:

Chrome web browser (preferred)
Notepad++

Download RightData (DataTrust) Installation Package

Download the RightData (DataTrust) software installation package from the link given to you.

Installation

Extract the software installation package zip file contents from the Downloads folder.

Double tap on the RightDataInstaller executable file.

This action navigates to the below screen.
Click on the Download button.

A welcome screen is displayed.

Scroll down and review the software licensing agreement then select the checkbox I Agree and enter the server license key provided by the RightData (DataTrust) support team.
A message Valid Key appears once the server license key is successfully authenticated.
Click on Next.

System prerequisites verify all the required configurations in order to install the application (if it doesn’t meet the criteria then it will not allow to Install the application).

For the Metadata block, if you are using AzureSQL as a Database, then checkbox AzureSQL. Add your Metadata DB name along with the Server name, User name, Password.

Note: If you are not using AzureSQL, then don’t select this option.

Click on Test connection.

A Test connection success pop-up window is displayed if the test connection is successful.
Close this window and click on the scroll-down icon.

Exceptions data section is displayed.
For the Exceptions data section, if you are using AzureSQL as a Database, then check AzureSQL box. Add the Exception DB name along with the Server name, User name, Password.

Note: If you are not using AzureSQL, do not check this option.

Click on Test connection.

A Test connection success pop-up window is displayed if the test connection is successful.
Close this window.

Click on Next.

There are two core application components to be installed, one is RightData Middleware and the other is the FrontEnd application.
Browse the folder to which the RightData Middleware is to be installed (optional).
Click on Install.

This initiates the installation process.

Now, the application is installed successfully.

Note: Click the Post configuration steps to install supporting drivers which is optional.

Click on the Finish button.

This action navigates to the application Log in screen.
